[Empties] June & July 2015

Hi everyone! I am SUPER EXCITED to post my empties this month because I went through a lot of skincare products that I love and can’t wait to share with you guys.

First up is The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Skin Clearing Foaming Cleanser which I reviewed in full here. This is probably one of my favourite face washes, the smell is gorgeous and I love how soft it made my skin feel after. It also kept my skin fairly clear, without drying it out. The pump packaging is super cool too, dispensing just the right amount of foam at a time. I will be repurchasing this again once I get through my current face wash.

Next is another Body Shop product, this one is the Vitamin C Microdermabrasion. I did a separate review on this product last year, basically I never experienced the improved skin tone or brighter and more radiant skin that this product claimed to help achieve. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed it using it as a normal exfoliator. The smell was pleasant and it left my skin so soft. I loved treating my skin to this every week, but probably won’t repurchase because of the price.

I also finished my Garnier Micellar water (reviewed here). This product is everything! It does an amazing job at removing makeup and comes at an equally amazing price. Highly recommend this one, and can’t wait to repurchase it.

The Proactiv refining mask is another favourite of mine, it gives me visible results and is perfect for when I’m having bad skin days. I did a more in depth review of this mask when I reviewed it as part of my top three favourite face masks.

The Garnier Moisture Match is a great moisturiser if you’re on a budget, it sits well under makeup and does a fantastic job of hydrating the skin.

I also tried a sample of the Palmers facial oil, it smelled delicious and made my skin super soft. I would probably purchase this once my Trilogy oil runs out.

Lastlly are these facial wipes from Priceline (can’t remember the brand!) which is the only product that I finished this month and didn’t enjoy. The wipes had an awful smell and dried out pretty fast.

What products have you finished this month? x

[Review] Top three face masks

20140504_154417

Hi everyone!

I haven’t updated my blog in while because it’s financial year end at work and also our fasting month (Ramadaan) started three weeks ago so I’ve been focusing most of my time on that. I’m not studying any CA units this semester so things haven’t been too crazy and everything feels really awesome overall.

One of my favourite things to do when I have a bit of time is to light a scented candle, pick up a magazine and put a face mask on. It’s inexpensive, relaxing and it gives you healthy and amazing skin in a few minutes.

There are a variety of face masks on the market that target various skin concerns. I tend to go for masks that hydrate, brighten the skin or help with blemishes.

Here’s my top choices for face masks:

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Purifying Mask

I love this mask, it purifies while leaving the skin feeling soft and smooth. It has a light and pleasant smell and gives this tingly/cooling sensation when first applied to the face. It’s easy to remove and doesn’t dry out my skin. The best part about this product is the price, it costs between $6 and $10 and lasts for ages. Score! ♥

The Body Shop Warming Mineral Mask

This is the perfect mask for winter, it heats when applied to the skin and stays wet on the face. It’s super gentle on the skin and feels really luxurious so perfect for those pamper nights.

Proactiv Refining Mask

My all time favourite face mask! It’s not as gentle on the skin as the first two masks I mentioned but the visible difference to my face after using this mask is immediate. I usually reach for it when I have a break out or if my skin feels unhealthy. It has a strong sulfur smell which I don’t really mind and is probably one of the most effective spot treatments out there. Moisturizing after using this mask is a must for me 🙂

And that’s it from me! Let me know in the comments what face masks work for you.

[Empties] February 2014

Hi everyone!

I’m back today with my February empties 🙂

20140224_150536

Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation (Bronze)

Okay there is literally no words to describe how much love I have for this foundation, it’s absolutely perfect! It stays on all day WITHOUT powder and primer, it covers all my blemishes and it doesn’t look too heavy or caked on. I’ll be doing a separate review on this product soon so won’t say too much more 🙂 This was my first bottle purchased and it lasted me around two years.

Repurchase? Already repurchased 😉

Proactiv refining mask

This was my first experience with a Proactiv product and I’m really impressed! I don’t suffer from acne but I do get the occasional breakout. This mask is just good for clearing out the skin, and it makes my skin look so much better. I know a lot of people hate the strong sulfur smell but I really don’t mind it.

Repurchase? Yes

Bioderma sebium akn

This product used to work really well for me but towards the end I felt like it just wasn’t doing anything. It’s light and it absorbed quick but that’s about it.

Repurchase? No

Garnier Mineral Deodorant

It’s a deodorant and it does what it’s supposed to do. I like the price and fragrance, so will purchase it again.

Repurchase? Yes

The Body Shop Moisture White Cleansing Powder

I loved using this product so much! All you do is apply the powder to wet skin and it cleanses like a dream. This product is similar to the Dermalogica cleansing powder but much. much better. It left my skin feeling so soft, cleansed and lovely. This product has been discontinued for years now (I’m too embarrassed to say how long I’ve had mine for) but I believe they have the Moisture White Shiso Cleansing Powder now which looks similar.

Repurchase? I’ll give the new Moisture White cleansing powder a go one day.

The Body Shop lipgloss

Bought this when I was into shimmery and glossy lips, the quality was really good and the staying power was pretty impressive for a gloss. I’m not really into glosses right now so won’t be looking at purchasing a Body Shop lip gloss anytime soon.

Repurchase? No

Revlon Moisture Stay lipstick in 05 Buff

I’ve finished my first lipstick!! Granted, it’s only 1.7 grams and took me about 8 years but still an achievement 🙂 This lipstick has been discontinued which is a pity because I loved it. It was highly pigmented, moisturised my lips and lasted a decent 4 hours.

I’m really excited to be finishing some of these products because it means I can start using new products 🙂

My question today for my dear readers is..

Have you ever finished a lipstick? How long did it take you?
