Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick shade #19 swatch

Hi everyone! Firstly a HUGE apology for the lack of posts on this blog, I’ve been busy with exams and have also started reading again! I finished Gone Girl (Gillian Flynn) and Six Years (Harlan Coben) in the last week, both were absolute page turners which I can’t recommend enough.

I’m reviewing yet another Rimmel lipstick today, this one from the Kate Moss range in shade #19. I’m a huge fan of the Rimmel Kate Moss range, it’s definitely one of the best drugstore ranges available. The lipsticks come in a sturdy, matte black tube and have a faint bubblegum scent.

Shade #19 is a gorgeous nude brown shade with warm pink undertones and is an awesome everyday lipstick. I think that the color would suit all skin tones, and makes a fantastic natural or MLBB color for Indian skin. The color pay off on this lipstick is amazing, the color is super pigmented with just one swipe and lasts a good few hours before wearing off. The lipstick is also creamy and moisturizing, I don’t have to apply lip balm before using it.

The Kate Moss range of lipsticks is available in Australia for $11.95 but regularly goes on sale for 50% off at Chemist Warehouse.

[Empties] June – September 2014

It’s been AGES since my last empties post (published back in May) because I go through my products at an alarmingly slow rate. Seriously, does anyone else take over two years to go through a cleanser?! I’m not complaining though, it just means that my empties posts are less frequent than everyone else’s 🙂

Empties June to September 2014

Empties June to September 2014

Gatineau Cleansing Emulsion

This cleanser was brilliant, it removed all my makeup and left my skin feeling super soft after. I bought this in the salon size (400ml) and it lasted me years. It costs around $37 but is definitely good value for money.

Repurchase?  Maybe. I currently have around 5 other cleansers in my stash that I need to get through first.

Dr Lewinn’s Facial Moisturising Lotion SPF 30+

I liked the pump packaging of this product but it made my skin feel really dry after I applied it! The consistency was thin and it absorbed well but I just didn’t like how it made my skin feel after.

Repurchase? No.

Garnier Mineral Deodorant

This is a repurchase because it’s my favourite deodorant. I’ve mentioned it a while back in my February Empties.

Repurchase? Yes.

Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Eyeliner

I absolutely LOVED this eye liner, the brush was amazing and the formula lasted all day. It’s also really cheap and easy to work with. The only thing which I didn’t like was that the formula started developing lumps in it a month after I opened it.

Repurchase? No, I’m using Maybelline Master Precise at the moment which I prefer.

Other Products Used

The Body Shop’s Moisture White Toning Essence was fantastic to use but I think that it’s been discontinued. The Versace Red Jeans perfume was a perfume my mum gave to me because she bought it and didn’t like it, I found it too sweet smelling to wear so I used it to keep my cupboards smelling good. The blush was one my friend gave me, I liked it but probably wouldn’t repurchase.

What products have you finished this month?

The Lipstick Tag

Thank you to the lovely Sarah from All Her Pretty Things  for tagging me in the lipstick tag! Her blog is one of my favourites and her post looked like so much of fun so I couldn’t wait to try it too.
1. How many lipsticks do you own?

Just 12! I was a lip gloss kind of girl until recently, when I discovered the rush that comes with wearing a gorgeous color lipstick 🙂 Since then, I’ve been building my lipstick collection.
2. What was the first lipstick you owned?
Rimmel lipstick in 067 rich raisin (pictured). My mum gave me this lipstick, I only started buying my own lipsticks recently.
3. What is your favourite lipstick brand?
Rimmel because they have such gorgeous colors at affordable prices. I also love MAC, they have something to suit everyone and their lipsticks feel so beautiful on the lips.
4. What is your most worn lipstick?
My all time most used worn lipstick is Images lipstick in Carnival (pictured). This brand has been discontinued and I can’t find a replacement shade so been trying to save it just for special occasions.
Recently I’ve been reaching for Rimmel lipstick in 016- Heart breaker (pictured).  The color is lovely and feels comfortable on the lips.
 5. What is your favourite finish?
I’m a fan of satin or creamy finishes because of the easy application and moisturizing texture.
6. What was the last lipstick you bought?
Rebel by MAC ♥
7. How many lip products do you currently have in your bag?
Just three because I hate my bag being heavy. I usually keep a lip balm, a lip gloss and the lipstick I’m wearing for the day.

8. What is your favourite red lip colour?
Ruby Woo by MAC is on my lust list, the shade is stunning and looks good on most skin tones.
9. How do you store your lipsticks?
I store it in a drawer with the rest of my everyday makeup, it’s next to my mirror and easy to access when I’m doing my makeup in the mornings. The containers that my lipsticks and eye products are in are just the tins that a Fossil wallet came in. I’ve just been gifted with a makeup storage holder so will be transferring my things to that soon 🙂
The rest of my makeup (eye palettes, lip glosses, face powders) are stored in a cosmetic case because I don’t use them very often.

10. Which lipsticks are you currently lusting after?

  • Ruby Woo by MAC
  • Captive by MAC
  • Eurydice by Illamasque
  • Plum Velour by Revlon

I have yet to swatch any of the lipsticks listed above so these are just based on blog reviews.

First lipstick owned- Rimmel lipstick in Rich Raisin
Most worn lipstick, all time- Images lipstick in Carnival
Most worn lipstick at the moment- Rimmel lipstick in Heartbreaker
Last lipstick purchased- MAC Rebel

And that’s the end of the lipstick tag ♥
Thank you again Sarah for the tag, I had so much of fun doing this! Please feel free to do the tag if you’re interested.
I tag the following beauties:

Have fun ladies and don’t forget to let me know if you’ve done the tag so I can read the posts 🙂

[Haul] January Sales

After a disappointing boxing day shopping trip back in 2012, I decided to skip the boxing day sales last year (2013) and wait for the January sales instead.

Here’s what I picked up:

Mor marshmallow little luxuries hand cream (25% off at Myer)

I absolutely LOVE the Mor marshmallow range so I picked up this little beauty for my handbag

Rimmel lipsticks (50% off at Chemist Warehouse)

Click here for my full review and swatches of Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish lipstick in 09 and Rimmel Lasting Finish lipstick in Alarm.

EcoTools airbrush concealer brush (25% off at Priceline)

I’ve been wanting a brush to apply concealer over my blemishes and the EcoTool brushes have good reviews. I haven’t yet tried using the brush but hoping it does a decent job!

Taylor Swift Wonderstruck Enchanted perfume (50% off at Chemist Warehouse)

Click here for the full review of my current favourite perfume 🙂

Mor Diamond Decadence Luxury Marshmallow gift set (25% off at Myer)

I was in Myer the day before Christmas and they had already started discounting the Christmas giftsets. I rushed over to pick up this Mor giftset because I’ve had my eye on it since it hit the shelves. Unfortunately, all the marshmallow giftsets were sold out online and in the three Myer stores around Perth that I checked. Last week I was in Myer again and spotted this gift set lying there, I was SO SO EXCITED! It was the last one too so I grabbed it. Paid $49 for the giftset and it contains a 100 ml EDP, 125 ml hand and nails cream and 180 gram soap bar.

MAC pro longwear concealer in NC 45 (Myer)

Technically I bought this the day before Christmas but thought I’d throw it in this post. I was lucky enough to get the $20 voucher promotion that Myer were running for using their app so ended up paying just $12 for this concealer!

And that’s the end of my shopping haul. I ordered a few things online at the end of December so will do another post once I receive everything. I’m pretty happy with what I picked up, although I missed out on the Benefit gift sets at Myer because I was too late.

I also needed clothes for work but didn’t buy much because nothing was really discounted and I didn’t like anything.

Did you shop the January sales? What is your favourite purchase?

Much love

[Review] Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Alarm & Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick in Shade 09

Chemist Warehouse currently has 50% off cosmetics until 19 January. I absolutely LOVE when they run this promotion and use the opportunity to stock up on all my drugstore makeup.

Today I decided to explore red lipsticks, something that I’ve never bought before. I settled with Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick in 09 and Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Alarm.

Left-Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Alarm, Right- Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick in Shade 09

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Alarm

Alarm is a matte deep red with slight cool undertones. I found it to be moisturising and did not drag on application. The lipstick is pigmented and lasts for around 3-4 hours. The only downside to this lipstick is that it transfers easily. I tend to blot my lipstick so this isn’t really an issue for me.

Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick in Shade 09

This is my second Kate Moss lipstick purchased and it’s perfect. This shade is almost identical to shade 107, which I believe has a matte finish. Shade 109 is deep berry red lipstick and lasts 4 hours on application.

Rimmel lipsticks are gorgeous on the lips and easy on the pocket. I adore this brand of lipsticks and will definitely be exploring more colours in the future!

[Top 10] Beauty Products of 2013

Hi everyone!

Today I thought that I would share with you my top 10 favorite products of 2013. Image

Mor Little Luxuries Marshmallow Hand Cream- Fell in love with this little beauty the first time that I sampled it at Myer. The cream has a lovely, thick consistency and leaves my hands feeling soft and nourished. The packaging is gorgeous and is ideal to treat yourself or give to a loved one as a gift. I find that the scent usually lasts between 3-4 hours. This is an ideal size to keep in my handbag and to use on the go.  I’m looking forward to buying the perfume and the rest of the range in 2014!

Herbal Essences Hello Hydration shampoo- I know I’m a bit delayed in trying out this range but I love this shampoo! This is perfect for summer because face it, who doesn’t want to smell of coconuts and wild orchid?!

The Body Shop Aloe Gentle Facial Wash– I have been using this wash for the better part of the year and it doesn’t disappoint. The product is a foam cleanser and gently washes away makeup. I have normal skin and this doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry.

Garnier Fructis Miraculous Oil- This is my first time trying out a hair oil and I’m really impressed. I only need a small amount of product and apply it to the ends of my hair. The smell of the product is beautiful and it leaves my hair feeling soft and manageable.

Maybelline Falsies Volume Express [Black Drama} -I absolutely freaking love this mascara!! It curls, volumises and lengthens slightly. The mascara wand took some time to get used to but other than that, it definitely delivers what it claims to do.

Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner- This liner is perfect. It lasts all day without smudging, is pigmented and easy to apply.

Garnier Youthful Radiance Night Cream– The cream doesn’t actually make my skin look drastically radiant, but my skin drinks it up! It has a pleasant smell and absorbs quick. It’s also not heavy like a lot of night creams, which I love.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation [5W1 Bronze]- This is my holy grail foundation, it provides medium to heavy coverage and is buildable. I have dark marks on my face and I usually skip concealer because this foundation covers most of it perfectly. The foundation is perfect for daily use, it doesn’t feel heavy and doesn’t look caked on. Also lasts for over 8 hours WITHOUT primer. This product is absolute gold, will forever be repurchasing.

Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipsticks- Shade 20 is my current favourite, but I’ve just purchased shade 09 which I’m also in love with. The lipsticks are affordable and great quality, making it a good buy.

Body Shop Born Lippy [Watermelon]-  These lip balms smell great, look cute and leave my lips feeling soft and moisturised . They’re a handbag essential and I usually keep one lying around my room.

Have you tried any of the products above? What are your favorite products of 2013?

[Review] Rimmel Lasting Finish lipstick- Heartbreaker

Hi guys!

I went back to Priceline yesterday to have a look at the Rimmel lipsticks again after my amazing experience with the Kate Moss #20 (See the full review here).

Heart Breaker (shade 016) caught my eye- the lipstick is a pretty raspberry pink color with a hint of red.

Priceline had 30% off Rimmel products so I paid $6.36 for the lipstick which is an absolute steal in my opinion. The lipstick is creamy, glides on and has a staying power of 3-4 hours.

I showed a friend this lipstick and it’s sold out in every shop that she’s tried so I assume it’s a really popular shade.

The shade is very pretty and would be suited to most skin tones. It’s more subtle than the Kate Moss #20 but I absolutely adore them both! Going to be having trouble deciding which one to wear every day 😉

I’ve swatched Kate Moss #20 and Heart Breaker below. They aren’t really similar, but both are amazing pinks and would make a great addition to lipstick collections.
