[Tag] What’s on my bed side table

Last week Varinder from MAKE UP ME AND YOYO tagged me in a post she created called “What’s on my bed side table”. Her post was an overview of what she keeps on her bedside table and her night time routine. The tag looked really fun so today I’m sharing pictures of what my bedside tables look like.

Bedside table #1:

  • Coaster for the million cups of coffee that I drink
  • A scented candle
  • Lamp for when I wake up at 3am and I’m scared to walk to the bathroom in the dark
  • Magazines like Good Health or Women’s Health because the articles are fantastic
  • Body Shop born lippy lip balm in Raspberry which smells absolutely amazing
  • Mor hand cream in Marshmallow (reviewed here) for when my hand’s feel dry
  • BioNike Defence B-Lucent, the only product that actually helps fade my dark spots
  • The Body Shop tea tree oil to soothe and heal any blemishes

I have two bed side tables in my room, with the one on the right side of the bed being the main table. I hate having clutter on it so during the day, it only has a lamp, candle and coaster on it. In the evenings I have a magazine there, I’m reading the April issue of Good Health at the moment. I’ve also included the products I use just before going to bed every night in the picture above.

Bedside table #2:

This is mostly used as a place to store my handbag on but I picked up recipe books from the library and wanted them where I could access them easily.

Thank you Varinder for tagging me! I’m tagging everyone who reads this post, don’t forget to leave a link below if you’ve done the tag so I can check out your post 🙂

[Review] Mor Diamond Decadence Luxury Marshmallow Gift Set

A few months ago, I did a January sales haul post which included the Mor Diamond Decadence Luxury Marshmallow Gift Set. The gift set sat untouched on my bedside table for me to admire until March when I decided that it was time to actually start enjoying  the products ♥

Mor Diamond Decadence Marshmallow Gift Set

For my readers overseas and those not familiar with the brand, Mor is an Australian brand which makes a variety of indulgent and luxurious goodies. Mor Cosmetics was born in 2001 when Mor’s founders were travelling around New Dehli in the back of a cab, discussing their new business idea and they spotted a street sign reading “Mor”, Hindi for Peacock.

The Diamond Decadence gift set contains:

  • 100ml Eau de Parfum.
  • 125ml Hand & Nail Cream.
  • 180g Soap Bar.

The fragrance

Marshmallow is collectively orchestrated with Vanilla Musk and Jasmine Flower that gloriously rapture in this pretty, feminine fragrance. Sugar dipped Rose petals with White Carnation and Cotton Candy play beautifully to create a deliciously sweet perfume.

My thoughts

I absolutely ADORE the marshmallow perfume, I love gourmand fragrances and this is perfect. It smells a lot like musk sticks and roses to me, I don’t get any of the vanilla and cotton candy traces at all. The EDP is sweet and feminine and lasts for 4-5 hours without fading. It’s a yummy scent, very soft yet distinctive at the same time.

The hand and nail cream contains cocoa & shea Butter, vitamin E & A, sesame seed and macadamia oils and sweet almond oil. All of which hydrate and nourish my skin, leaving it feeling super soft and moisturized.

I love layering the fragrance and the lotion, it makes the scent last longer. This is not my everyday fragrance but something I reach for when I want to dress up.

Overall, I highly recommend trying the Mor range if you love amazing smelling body butters, candles, lotions and perfumes. The packaging and quality of their products feels really luxurious, making it the ideal product to spoil yourself or a loved one with.

The gift set I reviewed can still be purchased from certain online retailers, I noted that Peter’s of Kensington, Coop and Ebay still had the item in stock. However I bought mine in store from Myer so can’t guarantee the quality of service/ products purchased from the retailers listed above.

Alternately, the Mor products can be bought individually from Myer and David Jones 🙂

Until next time,

[Haul] January Sales

20140125_171628

After a disappointing boxing day shopping trip back in 2012, I decided to skip the boxing day sales last year (2013) and wait for the January sales instead.

Here’s what I picked up:

Mor marshmallow little luxuries hand cream (25% off at Myer)

I absolutely LOVE the Mor marshmallow range so I picked up this little beauty for my handbag

Rimmel lipsticks (50% off at Chemist Warehouse)

Click here for my full review and swatches of Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish lipstick in 09 and Rimmel Lasting Finish lipstick in Alarm.

EcoTools airbrush concealer brush (25% off at Priceline)

I’ve been wanting a brush to apply concealer over my blemishes and the EcoTool brushes have good reviews. I haven’t yet tried using the brush but hoping it does a decent job!

Taylor Swift Wonderstruck Enchanted perfume (50% off at Chemist Warehouse)

Click here for the full review of my current favourite perfume 🙂

Mor Diamond Decadence Luxury Marshmallow gift set (25% off at Myer)

I was in Myer the day before Christmas and they had already started discounting the Christmas giftsets. I rushed over to pick up this Mor giftset because I’ve had my eye on it since it hit the shelves. Unfortunately, all the marshmallow giftsets were sold out online and in the three Myer stores around Perth that I checked. Last week I was in Myer again and spotted this gift set lying there, I was SO SO EXCITED! It was the last one too so I grabbed it. Paid $49 for the giftset and it contains a 100 ml EDP, 125 ml hand and nails cream and 180 gram soap bar.

MAC pro longwear concealer in NC 45 (Myer)

Technically I bought this the day before Christmas but thought I’d throw it in this post. I was lucky enough to get the $20 voucher promotion that Myer were running for using their app so ended up paying just $12 for this concealer!

And that’s the end of my shopping haul. I ordered a few things online at the end of December so will do another post once I receive everything. I’m pretty happy with what I picked up, although I missed out on the Benefit gift sets at Myer because I was too late.

I also needed clothes for work but didn’t buy much because nothing was really discounted and I didn’t like anything.

Did you shop the January sales? What is your favourite purchase?

Much love

[Top 10] Beauty Products of 2013

Hi everyone!

Today I thought that I would share with you my top 10 favorite products of 2013. Image

Mor Little Luxuries Marshmallow Hand Cream- Fell in love with this little beauty the first time that I sampled it at Myer. The cream has a lovely, thick consistency and leaves my hands feeling soft and nourished. The packaging is gorgeous and is ideal to treat yourself or give to a loved one as a gift. I find that the scent usually lasts between 3-4 hours. This is an ideal size to keep in my handbag and to use on the go.  I’m looking forward to buying the perfume and the rest of the range in 2014!

Herbal Essences Hello Hydration shampoo- I know I’m a bit delayed in trying out this range but I love this shampoo! This is perfect for summer because face it, who doesn’t want to smell of coconuts and wild orchid?!

The Body Shop Aloe Gentle Facial Wash– I have been using this wash for the better part of the year and it doesn’t disappoint. The product is a foam cleanser and gently washes away makeup. I have normal skin and this doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry.

Garnier Fructis Miraculous Oil- This is my first time trying out a hair oil and I’m really impressed. I only need a small amount of product and apply it to the ends of my hair. The smell of the product is beautiful and it leaves my hair feeling soft and manageable.

Maybelline Falsies Volume Express [Black Drama} -I absolutely freaking love this mascara!! It curls, volumises and lengthens slightly. The mascara wand took some time to get used to but other than that, it definitely delivers what it claims to do.

Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner- This liner is perfect. It lasts all day without smudging, is pigmented and easy to apply.

Garnier Youthful Radiance Night Cream– The cream doesn’t actually make my skin look drastically radiant, but my skin drinks it up! It has a pleasant smell and absorbs quick. It’s also not heavy like a lot of night creams, which I love.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation [5W1 Bronze]- This is my holy grail foundation, it provides medium to heavy coverage and is buildable. I have dark marks on my face and I usually skip concealer because this foundation covers most of it perfectly. The foundation is perfect for daily use, it doesn’t feel heavy and doesn’t look caked on. Also lasts for over 8 hours WITHOUT primer. This product is absolute gold, will forever be repurchasing.

Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipsticks- Shade 20 is my current favourite, but I’ve just purchased shade 09 which I’m also in love with. The lipsticks are affordable and great quality, making it a good buy.

Body Shop Born Lippy [Watermelon]-  These lip balms smell great, look cute and leave my lips feeling soft and moisturised . They’re a handbag essential and I usually keep one lying around my room.

Have you tried any of the products above? What are your favorite products of 2013?
